Our Story
Heeley Minimix's journey began almost 50 years ago with my grandad, Derek Heeley opening up the first plant with the Heeley name, D. Heeley Minimix.
The business ran for 25 years successfully while employing multiple family members and having many loyal customers. We still get work based on the recommendations of people who used Heeleys back in its early days. However with old age Derek decided to downsize and focus his efforts elsewhere, closing the plant in the 90s. Soon afterwards in 2001, his son Philip Heeley decided to take the knowledge and experience he'd gained and put it to use, opening the second generation plant with the Heeley name, Heeley Concrete.
Early 2000s
The early 2000s was an exciting time to be in the concrete trade. Philip saw the opportunity to expand into Pattern printed based driveways with Basecrete and this catapulted the Heeley brand, quickly expanding to 3 cement trucks working day and nights and over 20 employees. Years later, Basecrete was closed to focus on concrete delivery rather than groundworks and driveways, as we did this we decided to focus on our strengths - we can get our trucks anywhere with a 9 foot gap. And there Heeley Minimix was born, focusing on local deliveries where your average concrete provider can't get too.
2023
As we move late into 2023 Philips two sons, Ben and Louis, have joined the journey and the Heeley name is soon moving into the third generation and we are more than excited to see where the third generation of the Heeley brand goes. With our concrete plant currently under construction and our decision to focus and groundworks and pattern printed driveways as well as delivery, the future is looking bright.
